Essential Energy
An Induction Program for an Australian State-owned Energy Corporation
An eLearning solution to overhaul the training program and provide the target audience an enriching learning experience.
The Client
The organization is a Government-owned corporation based in Australia. The corporation has three companies that operate and maintain the country’s largest electricity network. Together, these companies provide services to more than 2 million homes and businesses. In addition, the companies operate more than 250,000 kilometers of power lines with the support of more than 9,000 employees.
The Requirement
The client provides electricity distribution services to a large number of consumers in Australia. These services are managed by a large number of employees. The client, which constantly engages employees in various learning and development activities, had an induction program for the employees. The client was looking to overhaul the program to include industry developments and to optimize the program for newer technological frameworks.
The Challenge
The organization has three companies that operate and maintain the company’s network. The challenge was to understand the business and the work culture of the respective organizations. Most importantly, it was vital to analyze client’s training program and embrace the operational practices in the new eLearning program.
The Solution
- Customization: All the companies worked in the same domain. However, the companies’ practices differed according to the needs of the customers they served. Therefore, we provided a solution having the same overarching narrative for each eLearning course, which were customized for each company according to their processes.
- 3D Visuals: The organizations had an induction program in place. It was important to provide learners a fresh approach and overhaul the program in a way that would meet their expectations. To do so, we designed and provided the eLearning course with 3D visuals that gave learners an enriching learning experience.
- Highly Customized Templates: Fresh templates were developed for this course. These templates were in tune with the client’s business, that is, electricity distribution.
- Newer Technological Framework: The program was produced in an advanced technological framework. This helped us not only integrate 3D visuals seamlessly but also include custom templates that added interactivities.
